With an armor of horns and a flat roundish body, the horned lizard lies in plain sight camouflaged amidst the desert and semi-arid terrains of North and Central America. This distinctive reptile looks like a cross between a dinosaur and a toad. The movable mouth and forelegs of this hand puppet can mimic the mating ritual of the species by bobbing the head whilst doing push-ups for lifelike appeal.

Did you know that the horned lizard has an incredible defense mechanism? When threatened, it can squirt blood from tiny blood vessels in its eye corners to startle predators.
